The establishment of direct partnership contacts between the Republican Center for Olympic Training of Equestrian Sports and Horse Breeding of Belarus and the Turkmen International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annaev became the subject of a meeting between the Turkmen Ambassador to Minsk Nazarguly Shagulyev and Director General of the said center, Mikhail Portnoy.

According to Portnoy, the opening of the Equestrian Center in the Belarusian capital was facilitated by the growing popularity of this sport among the population of the republic. The General Director noted the great contribution to the creation and organization of the work of the Center by one of its first equestrian teachers, USSR champion, international master of sports Irina Karacheva, a multiple winner and prize-winner of the European and World Dressage Championships.

Mikhail Portnoy also conducted a tour of the Center, introducing guests from the Turkmen Embassy to the conditions of keeping, feeding and training horses, and spoke in detail about each object in the infrastructure of the equestrian complex. It includes premises for keeping horses, sports facilities used both for training of the national team and for competitions, a veterinary clinic, and a hotel. Expressing admiration for the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annayev, which opened in September 2023 in the city of Arkadag, Portnoy expressed his desire and readiness to establish close interaction and cooperation with the Turkmen side in the field of equestrian sports and horse breeding.
