Turkmen media representatives improve their skills in covering gender equality issues

As part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls, which is observed annually on November 25, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Country Office organized a training for media representatives.
The training workshop aims to raise awareness of the gender aspects of media work and improve journalists' skills in gender-sensitive reporting.
Media representatives, including bloggers, became familiar with methods for promoting gender equality issues in the media and the role of media in the fight against gender inequality. The training was conducted by international experts from Kazakhstan: public relations specialist of the Central Asian Alliance to Combat Gender-Based Violence Madi Mambetov and director of the BeGlobe communications agency Natalya Sludskaya.
The event is part of the UNFPA work plan with the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan for 2023 “Promoting the strengthening of systems and mechanisms for promoting gender equality.”
