President of Turkmenistan discussed the implementation of agreements with the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan


President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin at a meeting on Wednesday paid attention to the practical implementation of the agreements reached following the results of the state visit of the head of Turkmenistan to Dushanbe in the spring of this year.
It was stated that the relations between the two countries are based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust, on the traditions of friendship and good neighborliness of the Turkmen and Tajik peoples. At the same time, both countries successfully interact in the international arena, within the framework of reputable organizations and multilateral formats.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of the results of his working visit to Tajikistan to participate in the fifth anniversary Consultative Meeting of the heads of Central Asian States and the next meeting of the Council of the Heads of the Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. As noted, the important documents adopted as a result of these political events are aimed at further consolidating joint efforts in order to strengthen stability and achieve prosperity in the region.
Stressing the high level of dynamically developing trade, economic, cultural, scientific and educational ties, the Head of State reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to further promote constructive cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan for the benefit of the two fraternal peoples.
