On November 1, a new terminal opened at Abu Dhabi International Airport (UAE), which is three times larger than the previous one, RIA News reports.

A special feature of this terminal is special counters for self-check-in and baggage check-in for a flight using a person's biometrics. Passengers can quickly go through check-in, inspection, and boarding.

Biometrics in the new terminal of Abu Dhabi Airport has been implemented at all stages of preparation for departure - this is the first time in world practice.

Currently, 14 biometric control devices are installed in the terminal. In the future, their number will be increased.

The terminal is capable of transporting up to 45 million passengers per year to over 117 main destinations. According to the airport representative, the minimum waiting time between transfers will be 45 minutes, including waiting for luggage.

By mid-November, the new modern terminal will serve flights of 28 airlines, including Turkmenistan Airlines.
