The EU and the International Trade Center signed an agreement to promote Turkmenistan in the WTO


The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Finance and Economy Serdar Jorayev took part in the signing ceremony of the agreement between the EU and the International Trade Center on the implementation of the project "Turkmenistan-EU: Increasing the sustainability and integration of trade". The signing took place on Wednesday, October 25, in Brussels, where the Global Gateway Forum is taking place these days.
This joint project of the EU and ITC is designed to support Turkmenistan in the process of its accession to the WTO.

On behalf of the European Commission, the document was signed by Peteris Ustubs, Director for the Middle East and Asia-Pacific Region at the Directorate General for International Partnership of the European Commission. On behalf of the International Trade Center, the document was signed by the executive director of the ITC Pamela Coke-Hamilton, the Ministry of Finance told ORIENT.
During the signing ceremony, Serdar Jorayev noted the country's active integration into the world trade system and stressed the importance of measures taken by Turkmenistan to improve the country's regulatory framework in accordance with WTO norms and standards. In conclusion, the hope was expressed for the high efficiency of the implementation of the new EU and ITC project.
