The program of the Ashgabat Cooperation Forum between Central Asia and the Republic of Korea has been announced


Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Saturday, reported on the program of events that will be held in Ashgabat within the framework of the 16th Cooperation Forum “Central Asia-Republic of Korea”.
The forum will take place on Wednesday, November 1, within the framework of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship in this structure in 2023. It is planned to hold 6 thematic sessions on its site in such areas as transport and logistics, healthcare and medicine, climate change and environmental protection, information and communication technologies, education and science, tourism. It is planned to organize bilateral meetings at the ministerial level, and at the end of the forum a final document will be adopted.
The event will also include a business forum of young entrepreneurs from the countries of dialogue, the 4th meeting of the Business Council “Central Asia-Republic of Korea” and the 5th meeting of the Business Council “Turkmenistan-Republic of Korea” and an exhibition of achievements of the states participating in the format.
As reported, South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin will visit Turkmenistan for the first time to participate in the Forum. The heads of diplomatic departments of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are also expected to arrive.
A total of 200 experts from Korea and Central Asian countries, including government officials, representatives of industry, academia, and companies, will also take part in the event.
According to the Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about 90 people will come from Korea alone. They represent the Ministry of Environment, Forest Service, Water Resources Corporation, Tourism Organization, Railway Corporation, Institute of Industrial Technology, Busan National University, Trade Association and other structures of this country. Companies include LX International, POSCO International, Hyundai Engineering, Hyundai Corporation, Hanjin Shipping, etc.
