The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has identified nominees for the 2022 AFC personal awards, according to the organization's official website.

There are three candidates for the Best Asian Player award at the international level. Among the contenders for this award are Porto and Iran midfielder Mehdi Taremi, Brighton & Hove Albion and Japan midfielder Kaoru Mitoma, who also played for the Belgian Union last year, and Bayern Munich defender Kim Min Jae. The South Korean national team player moved to the Munich club after playing for Napoli and previously played for Fenerbahce.

There are three nominees in the Asian Footballer of the Year category: Australian Matthew Leckie (Melbourne City), Qatari Almoez Ali (Al-Duhail) and Saudi Arabian Salem Al-Dawsari (Al-Hilal).

Australian footballer Samantha Kerr (Chelsea), Chinese footballer Zhang Lingyan (Guangzhou, Wuhan, Grasshopper) and Japanese footballer Saki Kumagai (Bayern) are nominated for Best Female Footballer.
