“The memory of the war is not only pain and sorrow. This is the memory of battles and deeds. This is a memory of victory!” The victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War was revealed in the work of many artists. Many books, paintings, and music have been written. But the cinema genre has always been and remains the most impressive and accessible way to tell a story. The three brightest movie stories about the events of 1941-1945, created by modern Russian directors, will be screened in the Turkmen capital, at Ashgabat cinema. The organizer of the event is the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan. As Evgeniy Beloglazov, the head of department on science, education and culture of the Embassy, noted: “It has become a good tradition to show the best Russian films about the Great Patriotic War in Ashgabat and the country’s regions every year.” ФОТО 2 “28 Panfilovites”, a movie about battles near Moscow with superior enemy forces, “Shout of silence” is about humanity in besieged Leningrad and “T-34”, a movie about tank battles, all films received special mention by both spectators and critics. Also, “The Arc of Fire”, the first film of a large-scale historical epic “Liberation”, will be screened for the audience. A film tour is also an opportunity to remind, first of all, young viewers that even during the most severe trials it is possible to remain human and it should be remained. As those who saw the war with their own eyes are passing away. Those who heard about war from the first source are leaving also. But the memory remains. The cycle of Russian films about the war will be opened on May 8 at 17:00 at Ashgabat cinema with a screening of “28 Panfilov” film. On May 9, at 19:00, “The Shout of Silence” will be shown, and on May 10, two movies at once: “Liberation: The Arc of Fire” and “T-34”. Admission to all films is free.
