Turkmen artists performed at the gala concert of the festival “Oriental Bazaar in Kazan”

The international pop festival of Turkic peoples “Oriental Bazaar in Kazan” ended on Friday with a gala concert, which took place in the capital of Tatarstan. Performers and creative groups from 25 countries - Afghanistan, Bahrain, Gagauzia, Iran, Yemen, China, Palestine, Syria and others - gathered on the stage of the cultural and entertainment center "Pyramid".
Turkmenistan was represented at the Kazan festival site by the folklore dance ensemble “Galkynysh” and People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Zuleikha Kakaeva. The audience greeted their performance with a long ovation, the Tatarstan press writes.
“Since ancient times, the Eastern bazaar has been a place of fusion of different cultures, mutual respect and fruitful cooperation, and songs are a language of communication that is understandable to everyone, an invaluable asset of any nation. I am confident that the festival of the same name will become an important platform for expanding multilateral humanitarian ties and another clear evidence of the closeness of the historical, spiritual and moral values of the Turkic and Eastern worlds,” the welcoming letter from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov to the festival participants says.
The headliners of the evening were Elbrus Dzhanmirzoev, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Irke, as well as the legendary Uzbek VIA "Yalla", whose artistic director Farrukh Zakirov was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan on October 27.
