A workshop for employing people with disabilities has been improved in Ashgabat

As part of the joint project “Accessible Work for Persons with Disabilities in Turkmenistan: Transforming Social Enterprises for Educational Opportunities and Decent Work”, implemented with the support of UNDP and the Society of the Blind and Deaf of Turkmenistan (OSGT) and financial support from the Fund for Global Development and Cooperation “South- South", the opening ceremony of the cardboard and printing workshop No. 1 of OSGT took place in Ashgabat.
As a result of the restoration and renovation of the workshop, which is fully equipped with modern cardboard and printing equipment designed to facilitate the work of people with visual and hearing disabilities, OSGT employees will be able to significantly increase the production volume of a wide range of products, including paper bags, cards and other types of printed products.
As part of the project, UNDP organized training for employees of the cardboard and printing workshop, aimed at training in the operation and maintenance of new equipment, as well as the optimal use of new technologies.
The opening of an updated cardboard and printing workshop will help OSGT employees work more efficiently, increase productivity, expand their client base and become more competitive in the market, Tomica Paovic, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Turkmenistan noted, during the opening ceremony.
