Ashgabat is ready to host the next Turkmen-Turkish business forum
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed holding the next Turkmen-Turkish business forum in Ashgabat. The head of state said this at the opening of a joint business forum in Ankara, timed to the visit of the head of Turkmenistan.
The event took place on Thursday at the central office of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), where the distinguished guest was welcomed by Vice President of Turkey Cevdet Yilmaz, Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Chairman of TOBB Rifat Hisarciklioglu.
An exhibition of Turkmen textile products, including carpets, various fabrics and sewing products, was held in the lobby of the TOBB office. Also, there were presented photographs capturing moments of the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the TOBB office in 2015.
Speaking to the business community of Turkey, Serdar Berdimuhamedov outlined the key areas of cooperation, including energy, construction, transport, as well as investment interaction.
In addition, the head of state spoke in favor of opening branches of large Turkish banks in Turkmenistan and establishing connections with Turkish companies specializing in various agricultural areas and in the field of water management. Among the specific projects for potential partnership, the reconstruction of the bed and branches of the Karakum River with the expansion of related infrastructure was noted.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov also focused on scientific and technical cooperation and called for establishing contacts between IT companies of the two countries.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed to continue the exchange of views on the development of cooperation in a little over a month, at the site of the Turkish export goods exhibition, which will be held in Ashgabat on December 6-8.
