Turkmenistan and WHO have established a partnership for joint activities


The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the World Health Organization (WHO) have reached an agreement to hold joint events of various levels on the territory of Turkmenistan until the end of 2023 and the first half of 2024. This is reported by the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan.
The agreement was reached during a meeting of the Turkmen delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Industry – Head of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service A.Ovezova, with WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus. The meeting was held in Astana within the framework of the Global Conference on Primary Health Care dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the adoption of the Alma-Ata Declaration and the fifth anniversary of the adoption of the Astana Declaration on Primary Health Care.
At the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare and outlined priorities for the future.
