India Army breaks a new motorcycle record
Indian servicemen have broken a new Guinness record, taking for drive by a whole company on a single motorcycle.
58 darers from the motorcycle team "Tornado" of Army Service Corps, rode slightly more than a kilometer, settling on the legendary British brand motorcycle “Royal Enfield”.
The spectacular stunt took place at the Yelahanka base in the city of Bengaluru. The team, dressed matching the Indian tricolor, was placed on special side boards attached to the bike.
The triumphant performance was the 20th record of the group debuting at the 9th Asian Games-1982 in Delhi. Since that time, iron horse riders have performed over 1000 shows at home and abroad.
Tornado team has outstripped the previous record of 56 men, beaten by their colleagues of the signal corps team in 2010.
Two-wheeled vehicles on the streets of densely populated Indian cities and villages are considered a vital necessity due to the high demand for mobility. A family of 5-6 people, deftly making their way through the jungle of city traffic jams or rushing along country roads is quite ordinary view of Indian everyday life.
According to various marketing agencies, by the end of 2016 the number of motorcycles in India reached near 130 million.
