Almaty hosted a meeting of national coordinators on combating drugs in Central Asia

The regular annual meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Center for Combating Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC) member-states was held in Almaty, which was attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies and foreign policy departments.

Within the framework of the meeting, held last week under the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the issues of the international anti-drug agenda were considered. The parties expressed readiness to continue work on coordination and cooperation with CARICC and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime on countering drug trafficking. The parties agreed to hold the next meeting of national coordinators in the first half of 2024, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
CARICC is the only interstate structure to combat illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors in Central Asia.
