CIS Culture Week to be held in Samarkand in 2024

The Uzbek city of Samarkand, which received the status of the cultural capital of the Commonwealth in 2024, will host the Week of Culture, Art and Cinema of the CIS countries. The cultural event is scheduled for next year, Mir 24 reports.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made such an initiative on Friday at the summit of the Commonwealth heads in Bishkek. He also reminded that Uzbekistan will host a number of youth events in 2024, including a soccer tournament in Tashkent, which has been declared the CIS youth capital.
