Turkmenistan is represented at the Global Investment Forum within the framework of the UNWTO session in Samarkand

On October 17, the Global Investment Forum opened in the Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Center. It is held within the framework of the 25th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
The Forum was opened by Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov and UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili.

Aziz Abdukhakimov said that the flow of foreign tourists to Uzbekistan is growing by 30-40% every year, which was facilitated by the introduction of a visa-free regime for citizens of about 100 countries and a simplified regime for 55 states. If 5.2 million tourists visited Uzbekistan in 2022, this year this figure should be 7 million.
According to him, 10 million foreign tourists are expected to arrive in 2024.
At the opening session of the UNWTO General Assembly, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that by 2030 it is planned to increase the number of foreign tourists to 15 million per year, and the flow of domestic tourists to 25 million.

Within the framework of the forum, an exhibition of the tourism and investment potential of the regions of Uzbekistan, three tourist and recreational zones, as well as Central Asian countries, including Turkmenistan, was organized.
