Turkmen approach to cooperation is based on depoliticization - Head of Halk Maslahaty


The national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said in Beijing about the conjugation of the Turkmen strategy "Revival of the Great Silk Road" and the Chinese initiative "One Belt, One Road".
Speaking at a high–level conference on interconnectedness within the framework of the Third International Forum "One Belt, One Road", Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the realities of recent times - a pandemic, increasing instability, reduced confidence and predictability have negatively affected global economic activity, entailed problems in interconnectedness, reduced the effectiveness of the implementation of plans and programs in the field of sustainable development, the TDH news agency reports.
To overcome these negative factors, it is necessary to unite the efforts of States and international institutions in approving a creative and constructive agenda based on goodwill, responsibility and foresight. From this point of view, the Turkmen strategy "Revival of the Great Silk Road" meets Turkmenistan's ideas about the future of the geo-economic landscape of Eurasia and corresponds in content with China's "One Belt, One Road" strategy, where the main principles are equality, consideration and recognition of the interests of partners, mutual benefit, respect for the diversity of cultural and spiritual values, the head of state stressed Hulk Maslahaty.
"Important elements of the Turkmen approach are the depoliticization of cooperation, moving away from one-sidedness of energy and transport flows in favor of their diversification and accessibility for broad international participation," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
Relying on the rich historical experience of friendship and good-neighborliness between the Turkmen and Chinese peoples, the existence of objective mutual interests, allows Turkmenistan and China to successfully build up partnership in the context of the implementation of these two strategies, their coupling and mutual complementarity.
Both countries are called upon to give a powerful impetus to economic development in Eurasia, uniting the spaces from the Pacific to the Atlantic Oceans on modern criteria, forming interconnected production and technological cycles and industrial belts, contributing to solving many social problems, improving the quality of life and well-being of peoples, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
