Delicious ishlekli and handicrafts: excursion of Turkish cinematographers to the "Ancient Merv"

A delegation of Turkish cinematographers visited the historical reserve "Ancient Merv", located in the Mary region, on Monday. They visited mausoleums and ancient architectural monuments, reports the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
An open-air culinary exhibition with tasting of Turkmen national dishes unfolded in front of the Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum. In front of the guests, the chefs prepared delicious dishes according to traditional Turkmen recipes – "tamdyrlama", pilaf, pishme, as well as a real pie of the desert inhabitants – "gomme ishlekli", which is baked in hot sand in a specially designated place. Turkish cinematographers appreciated the Turkmen treats and lunch in the fresh air, noting that they received great gastronomic pleasure from new tastes.

With the tour, the guests looked at another open air-style exposition, which is located on the territory of the reserve. Here they saw the magnificent works of Turkmen artisans and masters of folk and applied art - national clothes, musical instruments, carpets and carpet products, as well as silver jewelry made by skilled zergyars.
Turkish masters of cinema noted that when shooting their future historical films they will definitely show the unique natural beauty and national values of Turkmenistan.
