The 30th anniversary of TURKSOY was celebrated in Baku with the participation of Turkmen artists


The International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Following Almaty, Bishkek, Tashkent and Ashgabat, a festive evening in honor of the anniversary of the organization was held in Baku.
A gala concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY was held at the Heydar Center, a congratulatory letter from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was read out at the event and Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev made a speech, Azernews reports.
"This year, in honor of the anniversary of TURKSOY, a number of events are being held reflecting the history, culture and traditions of the Turkic world, our common spiritual world. For thirty years we have shown the whole world that we are always together and will follow this glorious path. The twenty-first century is the century of the Turkic world," Raev said.
The event continued with performances by vocalists, musical groups and dance ensembles from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
The participants of the event got acquainted with the exhibition organized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY in the Heydar Aliyev Center.
The International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY, which is called UNESCO of the Turkic world, was established in 1993 after the signing of the founding agreement by the Ministers of Culture of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey.
