The film of the "Turkmenfilm" director took first place at the "Dawn of Arkadag" film festival
The I International Film Festival “Dawn of Arkadag” completed its work on October 15. The competition program included films from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia and Turkey.
The award ceremony for the winners of the film forum took place at the State Drama Theater named after Aman Gulmammedov in the city of Arkadag. The film festival’s statuette and first place were taken by the film of the Turkmen director Sapardurdy Annayev “Kagyza ýazylan ykbal” (“Fate written on paper”).
Second place was awarded to a director from Kyrgyzstan for the film “Gelin heýkeli” (“Statue of the Bride”), and third place to a creative team from Kazakhstan for the film “Sary ömür” (“Life in Yellow”).
Valuable gifts and diplomas of the film festival were received by filmmakers from Kazakhstan for the film “Gopuz”, Tajikistan for the film “Sary çeşme” (“Yellow Stream”), Turkmenistan for three films – “Toý köýnek” (“Wedding Attire”), “Umyt” (“Hope”) and “Nesibe”, Uzbekistan - for the films “Üzüm” (“Grapes”) and “Meniň arzuwym Özbegistan” (Uzbekistan is my dream), Kyrgyzstan - for the films “Umut”, “Öz kakasynyň ogly" ("Son of his father") and "Poçtaçy" ("Postman").
The representative office of the TRT television channel in Turkmenistan, the Turkish film company “Bozdag Group” and the Russian film “Ahalteke” from the RT Doc studio were also awarded for their contribution to the development of cinema in the region.
Turkish director Mehmet Bozdag and Russian cinematographer, correspondent and director of the Russia Today TV channel Elena Norkunaite received special awards from the Turkmen film forum.
