The mayor of the Mary region and the British Ambassador reviewed potential cooperation in the field of tourism

British Ambassador to Turkmenistan Stephen Conlon paid a visit to the Mary region, during which he met with mayor of the region, Begenchmurad Orazov.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the prospects for cultural interaction between Turkmenistan and the UK, as well as potential cooperation in the field of tourism, the embassy’s press service reports.
The Ambassador also visited the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Ancient Merv", the main mosque of the region "Gurbanguly Haji" and the Mary Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.
Local historians told the head of the diplomatic mission about the history and culture of Ancient Merv, which is a World Heritage Site.
