A meeting of the Turkmen-Uzbek Business Council was held in Ashgabat


The third meeting of the Turkmen-Uzbek Business Council was held on Wednesday in Ashgabat as part of the international exhibition “Healthcare, education and sports in the era of the Renaissance of a new era of a powerful state,” which opened in the Turkmen capital on October 10. The Business Council is a platform for discussing and implementing potential investment projects in various fields, and helps promote trade turnover between the two countries.

Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting by Mergen Gurdov, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who is also the chairman of the Turkmen- Uzbek Business Council on the Turkmen side. The Uzbek delegation was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zhamshed Urakov.

The meeting participants discussed the trade and economic opportunities of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and, in particular, reviewed the current state of the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone, as well as the possibilities of expanding bilateral partnerships in the pharmaceutical industry, transport, logistics, agriculture and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the countries.

The parties also agreed to hold mutual national exhibitions - Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan and the Turkmen exposition in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International Information Center of Turkmenistan reports.
