Competitions will be held in Ashgabat in honor of Turkmen Alabai Holiday
The international competition among dogs of the Turkmen Alabai breed for the title of Alabai of the Year will be held in Ashgabat on October 29. The order to hold the competition “Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy” on the occasion of the Turkmen Alabay Holiday was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The document also provides for the holding of competitions among carpet weavers, artists, sculptors, photographers, publishing workers and television cameramen on the artistic representation of the image of the Turkmen Alabais in works of fine and decorative art, printed products, artistic photography and television stories.
By his order, the head of state also approved the composition of the jury of these competitions.
The Turkmen Alabai holiday has been celebrated on the last Sunday of October in Turkmenistan since 2022. In 2021, for the first time, it was celebrated together with the National Turkmen Horse Holiday, and last year, according to the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, it was celebrated as a separate holiday.
