To win the audience of Ashgabat and to be captured by beauty of Ashgabat: the grace of the tightrope walking of “Carnelli”

The artists of the Moscow Circus “Carnelli” performed in the State Circus of Turkmenistan about a month, as part of the Central Asian tour. Acrobats, gymnasts, trainers of dogs, goats, monkeys, and horses delighted the Turkmen audience with original numbers. Here the light went out, and the searchlight showed the tightrope walker Nika Mongush. In a snow-white oriental costume, she fluttered about 1.5 meters above the arena on tightly stretched wire. With tours, Nika traveled to Korea, China and all CIS countries, including Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. Now, she visits Turkmenistan. ORIENT interviewed the cheerful Nika and found out how she likes to be here. “I did not know much about Turkmenistan before coming here. Something read on the Internet, colleagues who already visited your county on tour told something. But reality surpassed all my expectations! Ashgabat is very beautiful. White marble buildings with national golden ornaments and national symbols are very organic. It is light and clean city. Moreover, spring! There is still cold in Moscow, and here you have already opened buds in the trees. A delightful picture. We are now real friends with many artists of the Turkmen circus. Your gymnasts – Irada Aliyeva and Liliana Yusupova (on the ring) – are very talented. I think they will soon surprise the viewer with new elements. The dzhigits are awesome! They told us a lot about the Akhal-Teke horses – incredibly beautiful and bolter enough. We, in turn, shared knowledge about our work. It was a very productive exchange of experience. We even had to create a schedule for our “elective classes”, because there were many people who wanted to fill up their skills. Moreover, it always inspires. My specialty is tightrope walking, and tightrope walking is a balance. Balance on the hands, on the wire, on a moving ball. Each element is trained separately, then jointly. You cannot say that it is simple and fast. The main thing is patience and hard work. As it said, “with time and patience the leaf of mulberry becomes satin”. In addition, the audience is always ready to support with their sincere admiration. It is worth trying for. Recently I saw the Turkmen circus program. It is so vivid, rousing, very modern and at the same time all made up in the national style – bright, colorful. It is a pleasure to watch.” Now, actors of the circus “Carnelli” leave Ashgabat. Their next destination point is Tashkent. “I would very much like to return to Turkmenistan again. And not only as a circus artist, but as a tourist.
