Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Buyar Osmani appreciated the interaction of Turkmenistan and the OSCE
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received on Monday the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Northern Macedonia Buyar Osmani, Chairman of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
Osmani testified to the OSCE's great interest in developing a dialogue with neutral Turkmenistan, which pursues a constructive policy in ensuring peace, security and stability in the regional and global dimensions, the evening news release of the national State Television reported.
The European diplomat also highly appreciated the practical progress of the agreements reached recently between Turkmenistan and the OSCE and noted the active position of the country in the implementation of joint projects, as well as in the context of the development of regional and international cooperation.
According to the head of Turkmenistan, this visit of Osmani will contribute to the further development of partnership between Ashgabat and the OSCE, as well as with Northern Macedonia.
Turkmenistan, committed to the status of permanent neutrality in foreign policy, purposefully develops cooperation with foreign partners and reputable international organizations, including the OSCE, taking an active part in joint programs and projects to achieve the SDGs and ensure universal security, the President said, noting the OSCE's role in political dialogue on a wide range of issues.
In recent years, relations between Turkmenistan and the OSCE have been complemented by inter-parliamentary cooperation. In this light, the holding by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly of the international conference "The role of neutral states in strengthening security, stability and dialogue in the OSCE region" was noted.
Another important area of cooperation within the OSCE is the protection of human rights, democratic principles and the rule of law, which the country pays great attention to at the state level. Other vectors include ensuring safe and reliable delivery of energy resources to world markets, creating conditions for sustainable economic development and the realization of transport potential, environmental protection, rational water use.
