The President of Turkmenistan received the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation


President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation, on Monday.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the most pressing issues of bilateral cooperation in its political aspect, along the parliamentary line, at the level of regional cooperation and on the main trade and economic track, it was reported in the evening news release of the Turkmen State Television.

Positive dynamics of mutual trade turnover and industrial relations, including in the oil and gas sector, processing industries, productive activities of the joint intergovernmental commission coordinating efforts on the entire range of issues of the Turkmen-Russian partnership were noted.
The humanitarian sphere - education, science, culture, medicine - has traditionally been an integral component of interstate relations. The actual direction of the dialogue is the IT sphere.

The mutual desire to increase cooperation in priority sectors was confirmed, and the Turkmen side expressed readiness to consider promising proposals from Russian partners on specific topics.
On October 9, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted talks between the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen–Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation - Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk.
