As part of the first groundbreaking collaboration between the Italian luxury fashion house and the commercial space company Axiom Space, the architect of the world's first commercial space station announced a collaboration with Prada within the framework of the NASA Artemis 3 project.

The mission, scheduled for 2025, will be the first landing on the Moon since Apollo 17 in December 1972 and the first landing of a woman on the moon, Axiom Space clarifies.

The luxury brand will work on the development of the NASA Exploration Extravehicle Mobility Unit.

The goal is to increase flexibility, technical capabilities and durability. In addition, the suit will be equipped with tools for conducting exploration and scientific activities. The version in which Axiom Space will work together with Prada will get a white color with blue accents.

Prada engineers and the Axiom Space Systems team will develop solutions regarding the materials and design features of the spacesuit to protect against the unique problems of space and the lunar environment.

Using innovative technologies and design, these spacesuits will allow you to explore the lunar surface better than ever before, the developers assure.

"In general, spacesuits are one of the most difficult things for a very small environment, and we have to create an environment in which people will live, provide them with oxygen and remove CO2," explained Michael Suffredini, CEO of Axiom Space. in a certain way, you have to supply air from top to bottom, you have to cool the object, and a lot of things happen inside the suit. And, of course, the outer part of it, and you will have to keep the pressure in the suit. The crew member must be mobile, so there must be different pressures inside and outside, which makes the job look like working in a large balloon."
