Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Myakhri Byashimova accepted copies of credentials from new Ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to Turkmenistan, with residence in Ankara, M. Amanul Haq.

Byashimova congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to provide assistance and support in the implementation of his diplomatic activities, according to the Foreign Ministry website.

During the meeting, the current state of bilateral cooperation and prospects for interaction within international and regional organizations were discussed.

Bangladesh is a small country in South Asia, bordered to the north, west and east by India and to the southeast by Myanmar. Over the past few years, Bangladesh has been demonstrating high rates of economic growth due to the development of export-oriented industries, primarily the clothing and knitting industries. Due to the growing domestic demand for hydrocarbon raw materials, the country also showed interest in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.
