BIE: Turkmenistan may host one of the specialized EXPOs in the future
The discussion of the possibility of holding a specialized EXPO exhibition in Turkmenistan in the future during the visit of the Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes became known from a publication on the website of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the head of which, Mergen Gurdov, the head of the BIE met on Friday.
During the negotiations, the parties exchanged congratulations on the opening of the Expo 2023 Doha exhibition in the capital of Qatar and the Turkmenistan pavilion at this international show, which, according to Kerkentzes, is distinguished by its original design.
The BIE Secretary General invited Gurdov, Chairman of the CCIT, to the next meeting of the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau, which will be held in November this year. Issues of bringing cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the BIE to a new level were also touched upon.
In the meantime, Turkmenistan is preparing to hold its National Day at the horticultural exhibition in Doha, which will take place on Monday, October 9.
Expo 2023 Doha opened last week on October 2 under the theme "Green Desert, Better Environment" and will run until March 28, 2024.
As for the next gardening exhibition Expo 2027 Yokohama, it will be held under the theme “Future Landscapes for Happiness”.
And Serbia’s candidacy has been approved to host a specialized Expo from May 15 to August 15, 2027 - Belgrade plans to present the theme “Game for Humanity- Sports and Music for All.”
Specialized exhibitions are global events that illustrate a specific theme and last a maximum of three months, as opposed to a global exhibition, which lasts up to six months and is held every five years.
The next specialized exhibition will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, from May 15 to August 15, 2027, under the slogan “Game for Humanity – Sports and Music for All.”
Turkmenistan is also preparing to take part in the World Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai.
Regarding the World Exhibition Expo -2030, the Republic of Korea (Busan), Italy (Rome) and Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) are applying to host it.
