On Memorial Day, the President of Turkmenistan laid wreaths at the People's Memory Memorial


October 6 is a united Memorial Day in Turkmenistan, when the country pays tribute to the victims of the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake, as well as the heroes who died on the battlefields of all wars.
On this day, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov laid wreaths at the monuments of the “People's Memory” Memorial Complex, which combines three sculptural compositions.
The head of state laid a wreath first at the monument to those killed during the 1948 earthquake - Ruhy tagzym (Spiritual Respect), then at the monuments erected in honor of the Turkmen soldiers who died in the battle against fascism and in the battles for the freedom of their native land - Baky şöhrat (Eternal Glory) and Milletiň ogullary (Sons of the Nation).

The ceremony was attended by members of the government, heads of the national parliament, military and law enforcement agencies, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, political parties and public organizations, ministries and departments, elders, youth and residents of the capital.
Memorial ceremonies with prayers and ritual meals were also held in all regions of the country.
