The representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross held talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan


The prospects of partnership between Turkmenistan and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for the coming year were discussed during a meeting on Thursday by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Byashimova and Deputy Head of the ICRC Regional Office in Central Asia Jacques Barberis. The guest is in Ashgabat on a working visit, according to the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The participants of the conversation noted that Turkmenistan and the ICRC cooperate fruitfully in promoting the principles of international humanitarian law. The Turkmen side thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross for supporting the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan in strengthening its potential. The sides also exchanged views on topical areas of cooperation and identified specific aspects of further cooperation.
