National Day of Turkmenistan at Expo 2023 Doha will be held on October 9
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau Dimitri Kerkentzes.
During the meeting held on Thursday, October 5, the sides discussed issues of cooperation and participation of Turkmenistan in global exhibitions in order to promote national goods and services on the world market and integrate the country into international economic relations.
The Head of State and his guest exchanged views on the areas of cooperation in the field of exhibition and fair activities under the auspices of the BIE, as well as the study of best practices in this area.
As noted, the country has adopted the Concept of International Exhibition Activities of Turkmenistan for 2024-2025, which provides for the expansion of cooperation with the BIE.
As a member of the International Exhibitions Bureau, Turkmenistan actively participates in world and specialized exhibitions, including the World EXPO in Shanghai, Milan, Astana and Dubai.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Secretary General of the BIE on the start of the international horticultural exhibition EXPO - 2023 Doha, held under the auspices of the BIE, on October 2 in Qatar, noting that the National Day of Turkmenistan is planned to be held at this international show on October 9.
Turkmenistan is also interested in participating in the EXPO-2025 World Forum in Osaka (Japan). The organizing committee created for this purpose is carrying out the relevant work, the head of state said.
Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau Dimitri Kerkentzes noted that Turkmenistan can host exhibitions of international importance and global development.
