The progress of the implementation of bilateral and regional EU projects in Turkmenistan and Central Asia was discussed in Ashgabat


The current state and prospects of joint bilateral and regional projects of the European Union in Central Asia were discussed in Ashgabat on Wednesday by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova and EU Ambassador to Turkmenistan Beata Peksa. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Cooperation Department of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan Johannes Baur and representatives of the International Trade Center and the German Agency for International Cooperation.
The participants noted the successful implementation of these projects and discussed issues of cooperation in the field of climate change and transport. In particular, the parties discussed the efforts of Turkmenistan and the EU to reduce energy consumption, increase renewable energy production and reduce methane emissions.
The topics of the development of transport connectivity between the European Union and Central Asia and the possibility of strengthening and expanding cooperation in these areas were also discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
