“The United Nations joins all the people of Turkmenistan in marking your special day, and looks forward to continuing our work together to ensure a better, healthier and safer future for both people and the planet,” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres wrote in the congratulatory message on Independence Day to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan.

The festive message, read out on the evening broadcast of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, states that the challenges facing our world require collective action based on solidarity, mutual respect and understanding.

“A better future requires every country to look beyond its national borders and support efforts to ensure peace, human rights, prosperity and sustainable development for all people, regardless of where they live,” the UN Secretary-General urged.

French President Emmanuel Macron also sent congratulations to Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the national holiday of Turkmenistan, noting in his message the positive dynamics in relations between the two countries, the intensification of political dialogue and promising prospects for cooperation.

“Following the recent visit of the Turkmen delegation to Paris, we aim to further strengthen our ties, especially in the economic, environmental, agricultural, energy, scientific and cultural fields,” Macron wrote, adding that the know-how of French companies can contribute to the implementation of Turkmen projects.

Italian President Sergio Mattarella, in a congratulatory telegram, indicated that the ties of friendship between Ashgabat and Rome are becoming more significant in the context of the complex challenges of our time and allow us to be optimistic about strengthening relations.
