Turkmenistan invited German companies to participate in projects in the field of water management

Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited German companies to participate in the implementation of projects in the field of water use. He made this proposal in Berlin at a meeting of the heads of delegations of the countries of Central Asia and the Eastern Economic Committee of Germany, TDH reports.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the lack of water resources is a serious problem today in many regions of the world, which is caused by global climate change, large-scale and, at times, uncontrolled economic activities of economic entities of individual states.
In this regard, Turkmenistan, as a party to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Paris Agreement and other multilateral international acts in the field of environmental protection, is firmly on the path to fulfilling its international environmental obligations, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted.
He recalled that the country is implementing comprehensive measures aimed at preserving and rationally using water resources, and highlighted a mega- project for the comprehensive modernization of the operational infrastructure of the Karakum River (Karakum Canal).
“We see the implementation of these measures in close cooperation with international organizations and foreign states. In this context, I propose that German companies consider the implementation of various projects in the water sector of Turkmenistan,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
