A number of events dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence were held in Chicago
From September 30 to October 1 this year in Chicago (USA) with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the USA a number of events dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence were organized.
In particular, on September 30, a seminar dedicated to the Independence Day of Turkmenistan on "Foreign Policy and International Cooperation of Turkmenistan: the historic visit of the President of Turkmenistan to New York in September 2023" was held in the conference hall of the Hoffman Estates Library with the participation of Turkmen citizens and student youth. During the meeting, a representative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States congratulated the compatriots on the 32nd anniversary of our country's Independence and made a statement on positive foreign policy of our country, including the development of relations between Turkmenistan and the United States. The main directions in the speech of the President of Turkmenistan at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the results of the C5+1 Summit, as well as bilateral meetings of the Head of our State within the framework of the visit were emphasized. The participants of the meeting noted the historical significance of the regional and international initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan, as well as the international community's high assessment of Turkmenistan's foreign policy aimed at ensuring international peace, security and sustainable development. Consular issues were also discussed at the end of the meeting.
On September 30, a volleyball tournament was held in Chicago, USA, on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence. Teams consisting of Turkmen citizens living in the State of Illinois and Turkmen students studying in various universities of the USA took part in the sporting event. At the beginning of the competition it was noted about the ongoing work of the Government of Turkmenistan under the leadership of the Honorable President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to create conditions for the development of sports in our country, as well as the achievements of Turkmen athletes in international competitions in various sports. The tournament was very competitive and interesting.
Also, on October 1, a festive event in honor of the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence was organized at the Allegra Hall in Chicago. Apart from Turkmen citizens, representatives of local business circles and other nationalities living in Chicago took part in the event. During the festive celebration, the Turkmen youth performed Turkmen national dances and songs. It should be noted that they also jointly sang a song to the words and music of the National Leader of the Turkmen people G.M.Berdimuhamedov.
During the solemn event, a contest on reciting poems by Makhtumkuli Firagi dedicated to the 300th anniversary of his birth, as well as an online quiz on the history, culture and literature of Turkmenistan were organized among Turkmen schoolchildren and students. The winners were presented with memorable gifts on behalf of the Embassy.
