The new Ambassador of Spain received accreditation in Turkmenistan


Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova received credentials from the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain (with residence in Moscow) Marcos Gomez Martinez. The accreditation ceremony took place on Friday in Ashgabat in the country's Parliament building, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to a responsible post and wished success in strengthening the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador, in turn, conveyed greetings from the Spanish leadership to Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan and assured that he would fulfill the responsible mission entrusted to him and fully contribute to the development of interstate dialogue.
During the conversation, the Chairman of the Mejlis informed the diplomat about the national programs being implemented and the comprehensive transformations being carried out in the country, designed to ensure further socio-economic progress and the well-being of the people. The Head of the Parliament also spoke about the priorities of the country's foreign policy, based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness and equal mutually beneficial cooperation.
The participants of the meeting discussed promising areas of the Turkmen-Spanish partnership and confirmed the readiness of Ashgabat and Madrid to intensify fruitful ties in the bilateral and multilateral format within the framework of the dynamically developing dialogue between Turkmenistan and the European Union, as well as other international organizations.
