During the conversation about the prospects for bilateral cooperation, energy was named as one of the key vectors, where opportunities open up for German companies to participate in projects to modernize existing and construct new facilities in the oil, gas and gas chemical complexes of Turkmenistan, develop hydrocarbon resources on the Caspian shelf and build the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline, the TDH agency writes.

Particular emphasis is placed on the potential of partnerships in the field of hydrogen energy and methane emissions reduction. In this context, Turkmenistan’s readiness to work together was confirmed and a proposal was made to develop a Bilateral Energy Cooperation Plan with the involvement of government agencies and large companies.

Also among the current areas, it was named transport, in particular, the creation of continental transit corridors Central Asia - Europe and the development of a multimodal network of communications, including air, land and sea segments.

The subject of discussion was possible projects to modernize transport infrastructure, create joint production of vehicles in Turkmenistan, and develop a medium-term Cooperation Roadmap.

The financial, banking and investment sectors, communications, agriculture and water management, and digitalization were identified as promising vectors of interaction.

Ecology became a separate topic of exchange of views. As noted, Germany is one of the world leaders in the field of green technologies and promoting the global climate agenda.

These topics were also raised today during the events of the “Central Asia – Germany” summit in Berlin, including at the meeting of the heads of delegations of the Central Asian region and the Eastern Economic Committee of Germany.
