President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Monday, September 18. The meeting took place in the afternoon, New York time, at the UN Secretariat building.
“Thanking President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his personal participation in the global forum, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres noted the active and proactive position of our country in cooperation with the Community of Nations,” TDH reports.
During the exchange of views on the priority areas of bilateral partnership, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan, guided by the principles of positive neutrality, is implementing a foreign policy aimed at ensuring the well-being of the peoples of the region and the whole world.
The effective nature of Turkmenistan’s long-term interaction with the UN and its specialized structures was noted.
As part of the working visit of the President of Turkmenistan to New York, a number of more bilateral meetings, a speech by the head of state at the plenary session of the UN General Assembly and participation in the first C5+1 summit of Central Asian countries and the United States are planned.
