The Turkmen film studio has started shooting a film about Magtymguly in Iran
Turkmen filmmakers have arrived in Iran, where they will continue filming a documentary about the great poet of the East, Magtymguly Pyragy. The film crews of the Turkmenfilm Association have already filmed the necessary material for the future film in Russia (Astrakhan and Moscow), Azerbaijan and Turkey. The tape will be released next year for the 300th anniversary of the poet's birth.
The creative expedition is headed by a young director of the Iskandermuhammet Annamuhamedov film studio. Filming will take place in places associated with the name and work of Magtymguly Pyragy and will begin in the village of Aktokai, located in the northern Iranian province of Golestan. Here is the resting place of the great Turkmen classics Magtymguly Pyragy and his father Dovletmammet Azady. A Turkmen delegation of creative intelligentsia - scientists, university professors, representatives of public organizations and the media - annually makes a pilgrimage to the tombs.
On holidays, theatrical performances and productions about the life and work of Magtymguly, performances of artists and thematic exhibitions are held in these historical places. Cultural events popularize the poet's creative heritage among the local population and help preserve the native language of ethnic Turkmen living in Iran.
Recall that in May 2021, a new monument to the poet-humanist Magtymguly Pyragy was opened on the square at the entrance to the city of Gombede-Kovus in the province of Golestan. Here, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora in Iran, scientists, curators of book and manuscript collections, as well as connoisseurs and connoisseurs of poetry hold creative meetings and scientific conferences.
