Turkmen freestyle wrestlers will take part in the World Championship, which will be held from September 16 to 24 in Belgrade (Serbia).

The composition of the Turkmen team for the world championship was formed by six wrestlers who will perform under the leadership of Yusup Melejayev. Representatives of the freestyle were: Perman Hommadov and Kakageldy Agayev (both in the weight category up to 70 kg), Gurbanmyrat Ovezberdiyev and Shatlyk Hemelayev (both in the weight up to 79 kg), Dovletmyrat Orazgylyjov (in the weight up to 86 kg) and Ziyamuhammet Saparov (in the weight up to 125 kg).

Ziyamuhammet Saparov should be singled out from this list, who in June managed to win a gold medal at the Asian Championship in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), as well as a bronze medal at the II CIS Games in Belarus.

The championship will immediately compete for 90 places for the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Paris. In total, the World Cup will host competitions in three disciplines: freestyle, Greco-Roman and women's wrestling. And in each of them there will be competitions in ten different weights, six of which will be Olympic. In each type of wrestling and in each Olympic weight class, the top five athletes will be determined.

Among the participating countries are: Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Georgia, Denmark, Egypt, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, China, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Norway, Poland, Romania, USA, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Estonia, Japan, etc.
