A football club from Saudi Arabia arrived in Turkmenistan
The rival of the Turkmen “Ahal” in group “A” in the AFC Champions League “Al- Feikha” (Saudi Arabia) arrived in Turkmenistan.
Immediately upon arrival, the team from El Majmaa headed to the capital's Ashgabat stadium. On the equipped football field adjacent to this sports facility, Ahal's opponent held their first training session. The training process included: a light warm-up, then a set of exercises to maintain speed, endurance and coordination, as well as work with the ball.
At this time, representatives of the Saudi delegation, accompanied by employees of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan, went to inspect the Ashgabat stadium, which will host the first round match between Ahal and Al-Feikha on September 19.
Let us remind you that at the group stage Ahal will meet with such teams as the Uzbek Pakhtakor, the Saudi Al Feiha and Al Ain from the UAE.
The group stage of Asia's most prestigious club tournament will take place from September 18 to December 13. From each zone (West and East), the leaders of five groups, as well as three second places with the best results, will advance to the 1/8 finals.
Note that for the first time since 2002/03, the tournament returned to the “autumn-spring” format. The Asian champion will qualify for the 2024 Club World Cup and will also have a chance to qualify for the next season's Champions League if they fail to make it through the national championship.
The first match of the Turkmen team against the Saudi Al-Faiha will take place on September 19 at 21:00 at the Ashgabat stadium.
