The Libyan Bureau for Economic Cooperation in Turkmenistan paid tribute to the memory of the flood victims in Libya


Ashgabat paid tribute to the victims of the devastating flood in Libya. The event, held at the Libyan Bureau for Economic Cooperation in Turkmenistan, was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Khadzhiev, as well as heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the country, representatives of public and international organizations and the media, libyaakhbar.com reports.
The Turkmen diplomat made an entry in the book of condolences and conveyed words of sincere empathy and support at this difficult moment to the families and friends of the victims, and also wished a speedy recovery to the victims.
As a result of heavy rains caused by Hurricane Daniel, two dams collapsed near the Mediterranean city of Derna in northeastern Libya on September 10. The cities and towns of Libya were flooded. According to the latest Red Cross estimates, more than 11 thousand people have died and about 20,000 are missing.
