The leaders of the United States and the five Central Asian republics will adopt a joint statement following the upcoming joint meeting in New York. This was announced at a briefing for journalists by the assistant to the American president for national security, Jake Sullivan.

"... We really expect a joint statement to be adopted as a result. It will set out in key areas specific things on which we intend to work together and which we intend to do together. And the United States will bring in some resources so that it can be effectively dealt with," said the adviser to the head of the Washington administration.

"This summit is not directed against any country," Sullivan said. "It is dedicated to a positive agenda on which we want to work with these states," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to Sullivan, US President Joe Biden will hold talks with the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on the sidelines of the high-level week events within the framework of the UN General Assembly session in New York on September 19.

According to the representative of the White House, we are talking about the first meeting at the level of heads of state in this format. "This first summit will allow the leaders to discuss a range of issues, from regional security to trade and mutual ties, climate change and ongoing reforms to improve governance and strengthen the rule of law," Biden's aide said.
