The Turkmen Tennis Championship has started in Ashgabat
From September 11 to 17, the national championship and the junior tennis championship are held in the capital of Turkmenistan. 273 tennis players from all regions of the country gathered on the tennis courts at the Ashgabat stadium. They will compete for medals in singles and doubles.
These competitions are one of the stages of selection for the participation of the national team of Turkmenistan in international tournaments under 14 years old, which will be held in Uzbekistan from October 14 to 28. Also, following the results of the men's performance in the championship of Turkmenistan, Davis Cup teams will be formed, which will be held from October 16 to 23 in Turkey.
The Davis Cup is a prestigious team tennis tournament in which 8 countries will take part: Turkmenistan, Syria, Kuwait, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Guam, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
The opening of the championship and the championship took place on September 11. The solemn ceremony was attended by representatives of the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan, as well as athletes and coaches.
