The most virtuoso young dutarists and bagshy’s were awarded presidential prizes in Ashgabat

The best young bagshy’s musicians, winners of the "Çalsana, bagşy!" contest that finished on Tuesday, were awarded in Ashgabat. The finalists were 12 people who were awarded prize gold chains on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Among the folk musicians who showed virtuoso mastery of playing the dutar and the high art of vocal performance, there is also one girl – a student of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory. Although there were, of course, many more female participants, and they fought with the guys with dignity. By the way, there are only three TNK students in the list of laureates, there are also professional artists, musicians-mentors and even an English teacher.

The award ceremony was preceded by an enchanting show, which was the final round of the competition, which covered all corners of the country at the preliminary stages and involved everyone who is passionate about dutar and the art of bagshy, aged 18 to 35 years.

And now the grand finish of the big music marathon took place on the stage of the capital's Mukam Palace, once again confirming that folk music remains the cultural phenomenon that not only nourishes modern art, but also connects the whole society from the inside with some kind of genetic matrix and generates new talents.
