"Turkmenfilm" with the picture "Gyzyl Kurte" participates in the competition program of the Toji Somon Film Festival in Dushanbe


The Toji Somon International Film Festival will be held in Dushanbe from October 15 to 19 and will be timed to coincide with the Day of Tajik Cinema. The Film Forum Commission selected films from Europe, Asia and the CIS to participate in the competition program. Among the reviewed and recommended more than 25 films from Iran, Belarus, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia, India and China.
Turkmenistan will be represented at the festival by the feature film "Gyzyl Kurte" directed by Sahysalih Bayramov, Orient was informed at the Oguzhan Turkmenfilm film Studio. The picture was released on the screens in May last year and is based on real events. This is a touching story about a young bride who escorted the groom to the front in the Great Patriotic War and faithfully waited for his return from the war for many years. The author of the film hopes that the film work will be appreciated by the audience of "Toji Somon". Previously, "Gyzyl Kurte" was a participant in many international film forums held in different countries of the world.
The motto of the first Tajik Film Festival is "The history of the development of Tajiks". The initiator of the event is the President of the Republic Emomali Rahmon. The creative platform in Dushanbe will become a film laboratory for talented young people who are passionate about the world of cinema. Here they will be able to exchange experiences and communicate with young filmmakers from different countries and present their works in the forum's competition program. They will discuss the strengthening and expansion of international relations in the film industry within the framework of the "Program for the Development of Cinema of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2027" and will develop co-production projects.
In addition to competitions, the film festival will include a meeting of the Board of Directors of film studios, familiarization with film projects (cartoons, feature films and documentaries), meetings with well-known representatives of cinematography from near and far abroad, press conferences, Cinema Days of different countries, a lesson "Master and Pupil", as well as photo shows dedicated to the history of Dushanbe.
