The Taliban is expected to participate in the Moscow format meeting on Afghanistan in Kazan


The participating countries of the Moscow format on the settlement in Afghanistan basically confirmed their participation in the meeting, which is scheduled for September 29 in Kazan. This was reported to journalists by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, reports TASS.
"Basically, all participants of the Moscow format confirmed their desire to be there and discuss the problems of Afghanistan. We hope that representatives of the current Afghan authorities will also participate there," the deputy minister said, answering a question from TASS.
Rudenko noted that this meeting is a necessary stage in the ongoing exchange of views on what is happening in Afghanistan and on the prospects. "And what the international community, in particular the countries of this format, could do to stabilize the overall situation there," he added.
The Moscow format for Afghanistan includes Russia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
