The German circus Roncalli refused to perform with animals and completely replaced their performances with holograms. Elephants, horses and even a giant fish enter the arena, only now it is a digital installation, writes The Daily Mail.

The system, which allows viewers to see a hologram from any place, cost the circus more than half a million euros, but the costs were justified -over 600 thousand tickets were sold for the performances of the Circus Roncalli, the cost of which varies from 29 to 70 euros.

The first experiment with a hologram in a German circus was conducted in 1991, when live lions and elephants were removed from their performances. Every year the campaign for the "liberation" of four-legged artists gained momentum and today has completely excluded animals from its program.

"Creating a visual illusion was not an easy task, but the engineers coped with it. Despite the absence of real elephants and lions, Roncalli's show delights both children and adults," said the head of the circus, Patrick Philadelphia.

Roncalli Circus is a German professional circus founded in 1976 by Bernard Paul. Today he owns one of the largest circus collections in Europe – vintage costumes, circus books and posters and much more. He plans to exhibit these unique relics in the museum.
