The delegation of the Northern capital of the Russian Federation visited the memorial complex "People's Memory" in Ashgabat


During the official visit of the delegation from St. Petersburg to Turkmenistan, Governor Alexander Beglov visited the memorial complex "People's Memory" in Ashgabat.
Here, the mayor and members of the delegation from the Northern Capital honored the memory of soldiers who fell during the Great Patriotic War by laying wreaths and flowers at the monument dedicated to the Victory, the press service of the administration of St. Petersburg reported.
The memorial complex with an area of 650 thousand square meters was opened on October 6, 2014. It includes the central architectural composition "Eternal Glory" dedicated to the fallen during the Great Patriotic War, as well as monuments in memory of the victims of the Ashgabat earthquake on October 6, 1948 and the dead participants of the Gokdepe Battle of 1881.
